Getting started with Google+ Local

Google+ Local is becoming very important for local businesses because Google is showing Google+ Local pages in the web search results, in some cases, above a businesses own website.  On May 30, 2012 Google retired “Google Places” and replaced it with Google+ Local pages.  Google+ Local shows information about your business including description, category, photos, video, hours, payment accepted and more.

Google+ Local pages also predominantly show Google “reviews” of a business, ahead of other sites reviews such as Yelp, InsiderPages, HealthGrades and DoctorOogle.

Check out our step-by-step guide to “Getting Started with Google+ Local” to see why Google+ Local is important for local businesses and how to claim and optimize your page.
